THE SKY IS FALLING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO... LITERALLY!
A house in the 4200 block of North Wolcott was apparently damaged by falling ice. The homeowners think it was from a plane. They believe a big chunk hit the roof and exploded into smaller pieces which they collected in plastic bags. Homeowner Linda Dowd says the impact was absolutely startling.
She recalls, "We were just laying there watching TV and all of sudden we heard a big thud and the house was shaking it felt like an earthquake or something...It sounded like someone was trying to break into my house and I didn't know what it was."
Linda says her insurance company had a hard time believing what had happened. Chicago Police did too. They told her they've never seen anything like this before.
