Flood waters are receding Wednesday (09/22) near suburban Atlanta's Clarkdale Elementary School.
Earlier this week the Austell, Georgia complex suffered flooding almost up to its roof as late as yesterday (Tuesday 09/22) evening.
It's unlikely students will be able to return to their building anytime soon,
if at all.
Clarkdale's principal made a quick decision to evacuate 442 students and faculty members as the flood waters began to rise on Monday (09/21).
Inspectors entered the school today that the building is likely a total loss. Cobb County schools have flood insurance, but the deductible is $1 million.
There was no immediate timetable as to when students and teachers will return to classrooms.
