Hurricane Ike's estimated 10 foot surge in Bridge City, Texas pushed a boat onto a home. The 40 foot boat has been in that position since September 13 when Ike hit Southeast Texas, damaging or destroying thousands of homes. Nearly every home in Bridge City, a town of about 6,000 in Orange County, was damaged or destroyed. A home owned by Verna Bordelon is one of many that was damaged.
Verna has had to deal with not only the damage, but someone's 40 foot boat resting against her home. The boat owner's insurance company paid for the removal of the boat. Workers using a crane removed the boat Monday.
