North Carolina school officials in several counties the western part
of the state had to delay classes Tuesday morning due to an early dose of wintry weather.
Some snowfall made for some slick driving conditions and classes were delayed two hours in mountainous Avery, Haywood, Madison,
Mitchell and Yancey counties.
The snow was expected to end by early afternoon. The is a winter weather advisory in effect and some locations above 3,000 feet could get one to three inches of snow.
