Recent heavy rains left some neighborhoods in Houston flooded Thursday (10/16), partly because of debris leftover from Hurricane Ike.
Officials say storm debris from Ike may have prevented some of the floodwater from draining properly, resulting in some flooded homes. Some drainage pipes are clogged with debris, keeping the water pooling in some neighborhoods. Some residents spent the day cleaning up water and mud in their homes.
Clearing skies are expected for the upcoming weekend, with little or no chance of rain in the Houston area.
