Firefighters are continuing to battle two large fires in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles, California Wednesday (10/15).
With the Marek Fire now 80 percent contained, managers have moved more people and equipment to the Sesnon Fire.
The Sesnon Fire started in the hills above the Porter Ranch neighborhood Monday (10/13) before pushing west to the Simi Valley and Ventura County. It is about 20 percent contained.
Well over a thousand firefighters mobilized at their command post in Thousand Oaks Wednesday (10/15).
Crews say the fire could have been much worse if not for a well-organized mobilization effort pooling resources from all over the state.
They also say homeowners played a critical part in helping them save their homes.
