Ike's effects are still being felt by farmers here in the stateline. Last weekend's heavy rains have left soils waterlogged. Roger Christian of the Winnebago County Farm Bureau tells us the first soybean crops of the season will be ready for harvest in about ten days. With dry conditions expected for at least the next week Winnebago County soils should be dry in time for harvest, but Christian says farmers further south are worried their soybeans will spoil before their fields are dry.
