Firefighters are continuing to drop retardant and build lines around five fires sparked by a lighting storm in the southern part of the Los Padres National Forest. Three of the fires, collectively called the Buckhorn Complex, had burned about 150 acres in northern Santa Barbara County by this morning. A U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman says helicopters are transporting crews to the remote wilderness to build lines around the Owl Fire, which has burned 20 acres. The Manzanita Fire is at 75 acres. The forest service says none of the fires are contained but no evacuations have been ordered and no injuries are reported.
