A bridge collapse caused by heavy rains in central Illinois resulted in minor injuries for two people whose car fell into a creek. Authorities say 18-year-old Casey Nolan and 23-year-old Johnathan Kelso, both of Morton, were taken to a hospital after the accident early Saturday near the central Illinois town of Athens. Athens police officer Tricia Baker says the car landed on its wheels and Kelso pulled Nolan out of the vehicle to safety. The National Weather Service says from four to five inches of rain fell on Sangamon, Menard, and Logan Counties from the wave of storms.
