While the Mississippi River continues to recede Tuesday (04/29) some of the problems the high water is causing are not going away as quickly.

Officials in Natchez, Mississippi say the flood waters have gone down about six-inches in the last few days, but U.S. Coast Guard members say that is of little comfort.

Steve Slesh of the U.S. Coast Guard says not only is parking a problem but even getting to the job is no walk in the park.

The Mississippi River at Natchez is still more than eight feed above flood stage of 48 feet.

The current stage is 56.3 feet. The forecast is for the river to fall to 56
feet by Wednesday (04/30) and continue to fall throughout the week.
