Spring is finally here and for once, the weather seems to agree with the calandar. The weather pattern will be decidedly springlike over the next week with several shortwaves digging out of the southern plains and sending some warm air and a chance for thunderstorms to the Stateline. The action begins on Tuesday with a good chance for thunderstorms in southern Illinois. We will likely just see rain showers here in Rockford, but there is a chance that some severe weather could make it this far north. After a brief lull on Wednesday another storm will move through the Stateline on Thursday afternoon possibly sparking off another round of severe weather. The primary threats for both of these storms will be heavy rain and strong, gusty winds. On Friday we'll see an end to the severe weather as temperatures turn cold once again.
