The skiers are psyched, but drivers less so as Friday's commutes were both expected to be wet with snow and rain in the forecast.

The precipitation started falling before sunrise Friday and by 6 a.m. there was already a generous coating of snow on the ground in places like Manchester, New Hampshire. While in Boston at that time the rain was coming down at a good clip.

The morning commute North and West of Boston was the most dangerous with snow falling, poor visibility and some accumulating snow on roadways. In other areas drivers are at the very least dealing with wet roadways.
