IA: Flash Flooding

Flash flooding in southwestern Iowa has residents in one town looking for higher ground.

In Red Oak, heavy rain caused rivers and creeks to overflow their banks.

Flash flood warnings and watches have been issued from the Missouri-Iowa-Nebraska border all the way up to Des Moines in central Iowa. Many will expire Thursday morning (10-18).

Some relief is in sight. Forecasters predict showers and scattered thunderstorms through Friday (10-19). But by Saturday (10-20) sunny skies are expected to move in.
