Red Cross Providing Help to Stephenson County Residents Impacted by Flooding

FREEPORT (WIFR) -– The Red Cross is providing relief and support across the Midwest. Hundreds of Red Cross workers are providing food, supplies, emotional support and health services. The Red Cross has shelters open across six Midwest states and has served thousands of meals and snacks and handed out hundreds of relief items for people who cannot return home because of flooding.

The American Red Cross will be distributing clean up supplies to residents that have been impacted by flooding in Stephenson County on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross Northwest Illinois Chapter 224 Galena Avenue Freeport, IL 61032.

Floods can happen anywhere and at any time with just an inch of flood water causing extensive damage to a home. A gift to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief helps us be there within a moment’s notice to help these communities and to prepare for the next disaster by training volunteers, staging supplies and maintaining our warehouses.
