STATELINE (WIFR) – Many Stateliners have been forced to make repairs after high waters flooded their homes. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is in town this week to tour some of the hardest hit areas, that way everyone gets the help they need.
So far, 32,000 families in Illinois have applied for assistance. We caught up with these agents in Rockford this morning. They’re going door to door assessing damage. City and county emergency managers have been working with them to help find victims, even if they haven’t stopped by your home or if you’ve cleaned everything up (as many Stateliners have), you can still qualify for federal assistance.
Just make sure you keep your receipts. For more information visit http://www.disasterassistance.gov/
