A local woman makes a longstanding Christmas tradition even more special this weekend.

This year marks the 265th anniversary of composer Handel's work "Messiah" being performed to welcome the holiday season. Rockford Choral Union member Elsie Lundvall took part in the event for the 61st time. She has not missed a messiah performance since it was first sung in Rockford back in 1945.
