From the Weather Lab: This new module will allow our staff meteorologists to supply a brief write-up of what to expect in the event of a severe weather situation. This is just a test.
Next time you buy a decongestant you may find a new drug inside the box.
Many drug makers are changing the formulas of their cold medicines so they can keep the boxes on store shelves. You may recall in January all pharmacies had to pull medicines containing pseudoephedrine behind the counter. That's because pseudoephedrine is used to make methamphetamine.
Customers can still buy the products over the counter, but they have to show ID and fill out paperwork. So to save us the hassle, many companies are substituting another decongestant called phenylephrine for the old formula.
