Keith Country Day School
On December 1, at 10 a.m., Keith Country Day School will host an information session as the first step for prospective students and parents to participate in the Belle Emerson Keith (BEK) Scholarship Program. Open to all parents and students in grades 5-10, the BEK Program is designed to help support promising students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, student leadership, co-curricular engagement, and community service.

In 1981, Keith Country Day School established the Belle Emerson Keith Scholarship Program to provide opportunities for boys and girls from the Rockford region to attend one of the area’s top college preparatory schools. Since its inception, more than $2 million dollars in tuition credit has been given to 165 students combined. For the 2013-14 school year, the BEK program will award partial scholarships that can be applied to tuition, fees, and books.

The BEK Program timeline is as follows:

December 1 Belle Emerson Keith Information Session in the Upper School Commons at 10 a.m.
By January 15 Complete the BEK online application
By January 30 Schedule a visit
February 23 BEK Scholarship Exam in the Upper School Commons at 10 a.m.
By March 16 BEK notification to families on scholarship awards

To participate in the BEK program, all prospective families are expected to reciprocate professional services, volunteer hours, or provide contributions that benefit teaching and learning programs. Expectations for these services are described in more detail within the BEK enrollment application.
