Rural Health Careers Camp

University of Illinois Rockford, 1601 Parkview Ave. Rockford, IL
Rockford University will host the Rural Health Careers Camp, June 22 – June 25, 2015, for high school students residing in rural areas who have an interest in the health professions. The camp is a partnership between the National Center for Rural Health Professions (NCRHP), Rockford University, Rock Valley College and the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) of Northwest Illinois. Current rural high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from the 19 counties of the Northern Illinois Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Region are eligible to apply to the camp, with a priority given to freshmen and sophomores. Counties included are: Boone, Bureau, Carroll, DeKalb, Henderson, Henry, JoDaviess, Knox, LaSalle, Lee, Mercer, Ogle, Putnam, Rock Island, Stark, Stephenson, Warren, Whiteside and Winnebago. The cost is $75. Applications can be obtained on NCRHP’s web site at http://www.ncrhp.uic.edu/ or from Vicki Weidenbacher-Hoper at vweide1@uic.edu. The deadline is May 1, 2015.
