SonSpark Labs vacation Bible School

SonSpark Labs FREE Vacation Bible School at Central Christian Church. For kids going into Kindergarten through 7th grade. June 7th-12th 6:30-9:00p with a closing program and science fair on Friday June 12th. Each night a simple supper is served from 5:30-6:10p for a suggested donation of $4 per person/ $10 per family max.

Registration is going on now! Call the church office at (815) 399-6767 to sign your kids up. A class for adults will be offered Sunday-Thursday 6:30-8:30.

TV Broadcasting Summer Camp

Are you curious about the world around you? Do you have a sense of adventure? Do you want to be on television?

Here is your chance! At TV Broadcasting Camp you'll learn what it is like to be a real news anchor, in an actual newsroom. Learn how to write, shoot, anchor, and edit a full news package.

You will work with experienced journalists, media producers, and news directors while developing writing and production skills. You will leave camp with a DVD to showcase your work to family and friends.

Campers will experience:

Writing for News
Uncovering News Stories/Leads
Conducting Live Interviews
Operating a Cameria while utilizing Professional Production Techniques
Editing Video with Avid Software

Residential campers $575 ($625 after July 3, 2015); returning LA&S Academic Summer campers, multiple campers from the same household, or NIU employees are eligible for an additional $25 discount on request. Campers must be entering grades 9-12.

First General Baptist Church of Rochelle, Illinois Invites Children to Everest VBS: Conquering Challenges With God’s Mighty Power!

A summer kids’ event called Everest VBS will be hosted at First General Baptist Church from June 15th to June 19th. At Everest, kids discover what it means to hold on to God’s mighty power in everyday life. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, make and dig into yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Kids at Everest VBS will join an international missions effort to provide Thai-language children’s Bibles to kids in Thailand. Best of all, it’s FREE!
Family members and friends are encouraged to join us on Sunday for the conclusion of VBS and a special time to worship Jesus at 11:15 am.

Rural Health Careers Camp

Rockford University will host the Rural Health Careers Camp, June 22 – June 25, 2015, for high school students residing in rural areas who have an interest in the health professions. The camp is a partnership between the National Center for Rural Health Professions (NCRHP), Rockford University, Rock Valley College and the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) of Northwest Illinois. Current rural high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from the 19 counties of the Northern Illinois Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Region are eligible to apply to the camp, with a priority given to freshmen and sophomores. Counties included are: Boone, Bureau, Carroll, DeKalb, Henderson, Henry, JoDaviess, Knox, LaSalle, Lee, Mercer, Ogle, Putnam, Rock Island, Stark, Stephenson, Warren, Whiteside and Winnebago.
