TV Broadcasting Summer Camp

Northern Illinois University
Are you curious about the world around you? Do you have a sense of adventure? Do you want to be on television?

Here is your chance! At TV Broadcasting Camp you'll learn what it is like to be a real news anchor, in an actual newsroom. Learn how to write, shoot, anchor, and edit a full news package.

You will work with experienced journalists, media producers, and news directors while developing writing and production skills. You will leave camp with a DVD to showcase your work to family and friends.

Campers will experience:

Writing for News
Uncovering News Stories/Leads
Conducting Live Interviews
Operating a Cameria while utilizing Professional Production Techniques
Editing Video with Avid Software

Residential campers $575 ($625 after July 3, 2015); returning LA&S Academic Summer campers, multiple campers from the same household, or NIU employees are eligible for an additional $25 discount on request. Campers must be entering grades 9-12.
