Healthy Living: Growing and Cooking with Culinary Herbs
Event Dates and Times
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Ida Public Library 320 N. State Street Belvidere, IL
Just about every dish tastes better with fresh herbs -- and there's no better way to get fresh herbs than to grow them yourself. Learn how to grow and cook with your herbs during a "Growing & Cooking Culinary Herbs" workshop offered by University of Illinois Extension - Boone County. Extension Horticulture Educator Candice Miller will provide instruction on what herbs grow best outdoors and indoors and the tools & techniques for successful herb gardens. Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator Marilyn Csernus will demonstrate how to prepare and enjoy your edible bounty. She will discuss her/food combinations; have samples to taste and recipes to take home. Everyone is welcome.
This is the final program in the FREE three-part series taking place at Ida Public Library. While this is a free event, registration is still needed to ensure we have enough materials for the participants. Registration can be done by calling the Boone County Extension office at 815-544-3710, or by visiting our website at web.extension.illinois.edu/bdo. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please call the Boone County Extension at 815-544-3710.
