Prison Ministry Events: "A Day at Stateville" & Benefit Concert

Ex-prisoners will read poems and prayers on Thursday, July 25th at 7 p.m. the staged reading titled" A Day at Stateville" was written by incarcerated men serving life sentences at the state prison. All of the performers themselves have served time as incarcerated men. Following the readings, there will be time for dialogue between the audience and performers.

Rockford Urban Ministries has lately been focusing upon matters of prison ministry.

RUM sponsors these two events at JustGoods in late July.

On Friday, July 26th at 7 p.m., there will be a musician showcase benefiting Rockford Reachout Jail Ministry. Reachout Director George Hofstetter and other musicians will be performing. A donation basket will be available with all proceeds benefiting the Rockford Reachout Jail Ministry. This ministry is serving the Winnebago County Prison within Rockford.

Both events are free and open to the public.
