The Western genre has captivated audiences since the silent era with compelling stories of cowboys, crime, and justice in the Wild West. As a tribute to this timeless film genre, the Lindo presents its next film series – Return to the Old West. The series will kick off on September 4th with “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” (1948). All show times are at 1 and 7 PM on select Wednesdays at the Lindo Theatre, located at 115 S. Chicago Avenue in downtown Freeport. This film series is co-sponsored by the Stephenson County Museum and Highland Community College. Admission to the Return to the Old West Film Series is $20 for the entire series or $5 per movie and tickets are available at the Lindo Theatre box office.
Lindo’s Return to the Old West Film Series will bring the following classics back to the big screen: “Johnny Guitar,” “The Searchers,” and “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.” And, as an added bonus for those who purchase tickets to the entire series, the Lindo Theatre will offer complimentary admission to the 1954 musical film, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” on December 4th , 2013.
