University of Illinois Extension nutrition & wellness educator, Marilyn Csernus and horticulture educator, Candice Miller will present Flavors of the Season Friday, July 19, 2013 from 1:30-2:30 pm at Boone County Extension office located at 205 Cadillac Court, Unit 5 in Belvidere.
Do you stroll down the produce aisle or frequent farmers markets admiring all the fresh seasonal vegetables wishing you had the ability to grow, harvest or easily prepare them? Early seasonal vegetables include asparagus, lettuce, onions, peas, rhubarb, spinach, radishes, strawberries and cherries. Maybe you are eager to try some of the more unique vegetables like Napa cabbage or bok choy; if so, this is your opportunity.
Join Candice and Marilyn to learn how to grow, harvest and prepare some of these early seasonal vegetables. A cooking demo and recipe sampling will boost your confidence to try these new recipes at home. A variety of seasonal recipes will be provided to help perk up your
