Workshop Instructor: Theresa (Tess) McCarty Oster OTR/L. This 3-tiered workshop is offered to professionals, teachers, and parents of teens and adults with autism and other sensory dysfunction; to provide a better understanding of the sensory systems and how they relate to function and behavior in individuals with autism and sensory dysfunction. This training will help to prepare staff working with individuals with autism or sensory dysfunction and families with a variety of tools to support the development of daily living skills and programming. It will stress how to achieve purposeful interactions; what can happen when sensory systems are not working efficiently, and what intervention might match a sensory need. This workshop will be offered over three days. Training on Day One would be available to all staff and interested parties. Days Two and Three will be available to professional staff only.
