Blackout Party 5

Date(s): 11/1/2014

call for time

Giovanni's Restaurant & Convention Center
Blackout Party Fundraiser Names Beneficiary, Enters Fifth Year

The Blackout Party 5, an annual Party with a Purpose, has named this year's charity of choice as the American Heart Association, says Vincent Rideout, organizer of the event.

Mr. Rideout has been organizing the event for the past four years, choosing a different worthwhile cause to donate a portion of the proceeds to each year. “Blackout Party” refers to the dress code to attend the event. Attendees are encouraged to wear black formal to casual wear.

“I am a Rockford native, and I see the need for help in different areas of our community,” says Mr. Rideout. “This is my way of giving back”

Mr. Rideout's choice of charity always hinges on the fact that the funds donated must stay in the Rockford area. Some of the organizations helped in the past include Crusader Clinic's Womens Health Initiative, and SwedishAmerican Hospital's Diabetes Self Management Center.

This year's hosts for the event will be Rockford's own American Idol, Paris Bennett, who is also a spokesperson for the American Heart Association, and Chicago Music Legend Mr. George Daniels, who will host the night's Steppers Set.

This year's event will take place at Giovanni's Restaurant and Convention Center, on Saturday, November 1st. Tickets are $40 in advance for regular admission, and $65 in advance for the VIP Lounge. They are available online at www.bigv.eventbrite.com or attendees may call 815.988.1057.Also featured are local vendor booths and silent auction items.
