Bethlehem - A Virtual Experience

Date(s): 12/7/2014

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Beth Eden UMC, 3201 Huffman Blvd, Rockford, IL
Bethlehem- A Virtual Experience

Step back in time as you experience the excitement on the day after the Angels sang! Beth Eden United Methodist Church, 3201 Huffman Blvd. in Rockford, IL presents “Bethlehem- A Virtual Experience” on Sunday, December 7th from 1-4pm.

Witness the beginning as you leave the hectic pace of your current lives to experience Bethlehem when Mary and Joseph arrived more than 2000 years ago. Touch the animals, smell the fresh baked bread, escape the Roman Soldiers and feel the excitement in the air as people in the town whisper about the baby that was born the night before. Search the town for baby Jesus, lying in a manger with Mary and Joseph keeping watch. Could this be the entrance of a King?

Admission is free to the event, however, we are accepting non-perishable food items to be given to local food pantries. Beth Eden United Methodist Church is handicapped accessible.

Charles Dickens’ family classic comes to life in this adaptation by Mike Webb. Ebenezer Scrooge, the greedy London businessman whose coldness is matched only by winter itself, is taken on a journey across time and possibility by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim and all the rest of Dickens’ unforgettable characters come alive –as if from the very pages of the author’s book– to tell this memorable story of light, joy, warmth, and transformation. Studio Theatre’s A Christmas Carol is certain to bring your family a feeling of love this holiday season!
