"Scarecrows on Parade"

Crow about Cherry Valley with the 5th annual "Scarecrows on Parade" event sponsored by the Friends of the Cherry Valley Public Library. Over 50 scarecrows have been adopted by local businesses, families, and organizations and are on display on lamp posts throughout the main streets of the village. Scarecrow viewers are encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrows at $1.00 per vote. Vote as many times as you would like at the library, online at www.cherryvalleylib.org, or at select area businesses. Don't miss this festive and fun fall tradition!

Come shop the Friends of the Cherry Valley Library’s used book sale for a great selection that is organized for easy browsing. Except for the special times for the Preview Sale, the book sale is open during regular library hours—Monday –Thursday from 9:00 am-8:00 pm; Friday and Saturday from 9:00-5:00 pm; and Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm. Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.
