Something you don't see every day, a wolf, caught on camera here in Northern Illinois.

Bob Coine has a series of motion-activated cameras on and around his property in western Oregon. This picture was captured on one of his trail cams. At first he thought it might be a large male coyote, but we spoke with a local wildlife biologist who says this photo is actually a wolf. This is believed to be the first live wolf filmed naturally in Illinois.

"..I have to assume the wolves are here for the same reason people are, this is a great place to live, and the wildlife and the habitat here really lend itself well to this kind of predator," said Coine.

In Feb. 2008, a wolf was shot near Lena by a coyote hunter.

That is neat. We have a cougar by Poplar Grove and now a Wolf. I just hope that people in those areas want those animals gone.
