Halloween Shoppers Keep an Eye out for Bargains

The economy could be frightening to think about 23 news reporter Whitney Martin tells us how we can have a happy Halloween without breaking the bank.

For moms like Ellisa Williams when it comes to shopping for Halloween. The prices can be scarier than the costumes.

"Costumes are absolutely ridiculous.. prices are very high," Williams said.

This year the mother of four is scanning stateline party stores hoping to get more boo for her buck

"It is amazing how much it costs to buy a costume for four kids..it can cost from 10 to 20 dollars a pop," Williams said.

To make this pumpkin season more of a treat than trick...Procrastinate. Some stores lower their prices the day before Halloween to get rid of unwanted stock.

You can also to trade with other families with kids the same age and buy accessories that can go with more than one costume.

Before we start filling the candy bowl Halloween websites recommend buying generics .. not only are they cheaper...But most ghosts and goblins won't notice. To prevent paying more than we'd like savings experts say buy now before the candy isle is picked-over. The issue isn't necessarily spending money on candy it's dealing with how candy the kids are going to get to have in one sitting.
