Rock River Drowning Victim Found

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) -- The body of an East Moline woman who had been missing for days after being pulled under fast-moving Rock River waters has been found by an Illinois Department of Natural Resources officer.

The body was discovered Saturday afternoon after an extensive search that included a helicopter.

Police say 20-year-old Kristina Ornelis disappeared after she fell into the river while fishing with two friends and her infant son on Tuesday.

Rock Island County chief deputy coroner Brian Gustafson says an investigation is pending.
