Just in time for the weekend, the Illinois department of natural resources has opened the Rock River back up to boaters.
However, the Winnebago county sheriff's department is not exactly happy with the decision. They say waters are still high and debris is plentiful so they're instating a "no wake zone" for the "entire river until things calm down." Sheriffs are urging boaters to stay off the water for recreational purpose during these dangerous conditions.
