Not all farmers are having a rough time this season though, one local farmer is giving people a chance at picking their own food. This season you can experience life on the farm and pick some of your own cherries at Curran's Orchard, 6385 Kilburn, right off Route 70. Curran's is open throughout the week, from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M.They also offer picking assistance for those with special needs.
"Latvia, that' up north by Baltic sea and the weather is kinda similar a little colder and we only grow sour cherries over there and so its nice to find places over here that we can find sour cherres and it brings us back to our childhood memories," said visitor Sanita Ruhl.
