Five years ago, Addie had trouble talking to her own parents about her alcohol addiction... Today she speaks to a crowd of moms and dads... and this time they belong to her peers.. she says it's credit to the adults in her life that make her sober today
"When i went to college i found out that allot of people were trying to act like adults and not binge drink" says Addie
Addie , now 19 ..had her first drink in 8th grade....and although it sounds shocking to her today... She says it's the normal routine for kids her age
" It was like this weekly thing we would go to this one girls house and drink because that's where it was social acceptable" says Addie
and shes not alone.According to a recent study done by the "Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration" nearly 30 percent of teens are drinkers..The investigation shows that in a five day period,teens drink almost 5 alcoholic beverages a day.. and get this.. they actually consume more drinks than someone of legal age.age. ...and experts say.. as long as adults continue to supply the alcohol.. teen addiction will continue to rise.
