Chicago Students Rally for Gun Control

Senseless acts of violence are overshadowing acts of learning in Chicago public schools. Twenty students have been killed so far this year and today.. Chicago high school students are saying.. we've had enough. They rallied together to bring attention to the recent gang and gun violence.

On display were each of the victim's names.. along with empty desks.. and empty shoes to illustrate how much the violence has increased. Protestors are urging state lawmakers to pass tougher gun laws to keep the streets... And the classrooms safe.

We must all become outraged,we must all become mad because guess what every child is at risk.Because it showed us at niu,it showed us at virginia tech, no child is safe right now in our community, in our neighborhood, in our country while guns are accessible and on the streets all over our country.," said Father Michael Pfleger

The death toll right now.. of 20 students.. is just four short of the total for *all of last year

Enough with the gun nuts controlling our lawmakers with their dollars. We need to remove these cowardly politicans and replace them with legislators who will put a stop to the gun violence destroying our country.
