Rockford city Aldermen are discussing a 2.2 million dollar budget cut
city officials credit the cut with several changes including the removal of city vehicle stickers. Officials say the change saves the city 1.3 million bucks. and with a new financial plan. comes new technology. The Rockford police department will receive 10 new squad cars along with an updated dispatch screen that allows patrolmen view 911 calls that have been put on hold. Right now city leaders say they have not discussed any lay-offs...and say they aren't expected. the city also expects a lower property tax.. right now Rockford has one of the highest in the state.
