The people sitting in these chairs don’t live next door to each other but they are members of Rockford’s Latino Community Council. Saturday they joined together in the effort to create their own neighborhood association on the city's south west side. They called it “The Conversation Cafe".. .armed with name tags and ideas.. Latino leaders answered public questions by posing one of their own, "Just what is going wrong in their community?" They tell us some concerns were gangs, crime, graffiti, and vandalism. Leaders from the local Latino community announced that the South Westside of Rockford holds the highest Hispanic population in the city. After several recent murders in that area, residents claim they aren't stopping crime.. They’re just becoming immune. That’s exactly the problem the "Latino leadership council" wants to solve and get things back to the way they were and until an efficient watch program is in place.. The only thing walking south west streets will be crime.
