Whitney Martin is no stranger to Rockford. The former East E-RAB grew up in the Stateline and is thrilled to be working in her hometown.

Whitney joined the 23 News Team in March 2007 .Since then, She has covered Rockford news on both sides of the camera as a Reporter and a Photographer. Winning the award for "Outstanding Broadcast student" is just one of the titles Whitney obtained as a graduate from the "Illinois center for Broadcasting." She began her broadcast career as an intern at WIFR and as an Anchor/Reporter for the "Community Spotlight" in Lombard, Illinois. Growing up as a viewer of the station, Whitney has always admired Rockford news and is proud to report stories to a community she has always been a part of.

In her spare time, Whitney is very active in the community. She enjoys coaching several competitive cheerleading squads, playing softball and volunteering at a local nursing home. Here’s a fun fact, Whitney dressed up as a News reporter in her kindergarten class on career day.
