Kristin Burke is a reporter and also produces the 23 News at Six newscast. She joined the WIFR news Team in February of 2007 coming from WTVO- TV in Rockford.
Kristin began her broadcasting career with an internship at WLS-TV with Investigative Reporter Chuck Goudie. There she was able to be a part of many award winning stories, including one of her favorites, “Worst Case Scenario,” which examined the vulnerability of chemical plants in Illinois.
Kristin graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Communications major. She also has worked on several different political campaigns including a United States Senate Campaign in 2004.
One of her goals for 23 News at 6 is to provide a complete and comprehensive, in-depth look at local news from all around the Stateline.
Kristin also enjoys election nights and reporting on good issue oriented topics that impacts viewers.
When she is not at 23 WIFR, she enjoys watching and searching for news stories, is an avid sports fan, and likes to volunteer in the community, especially with kids..
