Lauren graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford in 2003. She then headed straight to Northern Illinois University that fall, not knowing exactly what she wanted to do. Lauren knew she loved to write but not much more than that. Her junior year, she took some broadcast classes and loved them. She then went on to graduate with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, Lauren started interning at 23 WIFR, which led to a temporary producing position for 23 News This Morning. Soon after that Lauren took a position as Associate Producer. And, that all has led her to where she is now, producing 23 News at 6 and the 23 News Update at 10. Lauren has been with WIFR since Fall 2007.

Lauren was born in St. Louis, Missouri but grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She moved to Rockford half-way through high school, and has been here ever since. According to her, the Midwest definitely has a lot more cornfields, but it's nice to be out of the busy city.

Anywhere its warm, you can usually find Lauren. She loves the beach and swimming. Lauren loves to dance, take pictures - especially scenic photos, and If she finds a good book that keeps her interest, she will read for hours. Lauren’s family, friends, and special someone all mean the world to her.

Some little known facts about Lauren are that she loves to eat; cheese, carbs - especially pasta, mexican food, sushi, you name it. She also loves animals, especially dogs
