Before coming to WIFR, Marissa was the 6pm and 11pm anchor at WLIO in Lima, Ohio. During her two years in Lima Marissa received the Ohio Associated Press Award for Best Feature Story.
Marissa is no stranger to the Forest City. After graduating from Ball State University, Marissa took her first job in Rockford as a producer at one of the other local TV stations.
Although Marissa grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and is proud to call herself a “Cheesehead” and a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan.
Marissa loves to travel. She’s been all over Europe and Australia, and is always looking for new places to explore. She also likes watching sports and working out. You can find her running along the Rock River when the weather is nice, or playing tennis at the local tennis courts.
Marissa loves meeting new people and hearing their stories.
