Connect With Me:

Jessica Geraci is thrilled to be working back in her hometown of Rockford. The Boylan High School graduate joined the WIFR team as a multi-media journalist in September 2011.

Jessica went to journalism school at Loyola University Chicago and spent a year studying in Rome during her junior year. During her 2 semesters in Italy, Jessica learned to speak Italian and developed a lifelong love for gelato. In the Eternal City, Jessica completed an internship with the European Broadcasting Union. There she got to assist international journalists covering the Italian elections and other stories. That inspired her to one day work as a foreign correspondent in Rome.

Jessica’s first job out of college was running studio cameras for WQAD-TV in Moline, Illinois. Jessica’s also worked as a newscast producer, but her real passion is reporting. She doesn’t like being stuck in a newsroom and prefers to be out in the community learning more about the people and places of the Stateline. Jessica’s considered a one man band at WIFR; she can shoot, edit, and write her own stories, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of her most memorable assignments include covering the horse auction at Rita Crundwell’s Dixon ranch, flying in the OSF Lifeline helicopter, and meeting Lance Corporal Adam Devine when he returned home to Dixon.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys walking her dog Sam along the Rock River. Jessica is a huge hockey fan; she attends as many Icehogs games as she can. Jessica is also an avid reader and a huge animal lover.

Jessica is always open to meeting new people and checking out new spots around the Stateline. If you have a story idea, feel free to send her an email at
