ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- With only two months until school is out, it’s time to start thinking about summer! The YMCA Summer Program Guide and 2014 Summer Camp Guide are now available, both full of summer activities suited for all ages and interests.
In the Summer Camp Guide, you’ll find a wide selection of summer-long programs offered at Camp Winnebago. Affectionately referred to as Camp W, the camp’s mission is to develop leadership and life skills through fun, progressive programs delivered in nature’s learning environment. Camp Winnebago programs include traditional style day camps, kinder camp for the 3-5 year olds, sports camps and explorer camps. There is something for everyone at Camp Winnebago!
Camp Winnebago will be holding an open house on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as an opportunity to meet camp staff, explore the beautiful outdoors, take a trip down the Black Hole Slide and complete registration. All who register during the open house will receive a free shirt! More information can be found in the Summer Camp Guide, at rockriverymca.org.
Additional summer programs will take place at both the I.D. Pennock Family YMCA and Northeast Family YMCA locations and include everything from swimming, gymnastics, karate, and for the first time this year, music lessons. Programs are divided into Summer Session 1 (June 9 – July 12) and Summer Session 2 (July 13 – August 16). More information can be found in the Summer Program Guide, at rockriverymca.org.
