The Roscoe Rush will play their home games for the 2013 season at Guilford High School’s Swanson Stadium.
“Swanson is in the middle of everything, where more people will be able to catch a game,” team co-owner Rob Feltner said. “It’s the perfect location for a family catching a Saturday summer night of football action. We are happy to be in Rockford.”
The move follows three home field locales for the 11-year-old franchise. Beginning in 2002, when the team began as the Belvidere Rush, they played at Funderburg Stadium. After that, the team migrated to Riverside Park in Rockton/Roscoe and enjoyed the park’s half-bowl stadium. But the Rock River flooded out that field two years in a row, forcing the team to land in Pecatonica where they played from 2008-2012.
The Rush have won three championships overall, and have had the same owners and only two head coaches in their 11 year history.
