There's a new football team starting here in Rockford, but it's nothing like we've ever seen before. The Rockford Riveters women's tackle football team is currently in midst of recruiting players before their next tryout which will be held on February 4th. The Riveters will compete in the Indepedent Women's Football League and will play it's home games at Freeport High School. Team owner Kelley Richardt said she chose Rockford as the location for the team to honor the pioneers of women's history.
