PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A Democratic congressman from Rhode Island and a Republican congressman from Illinois are betting lunch on the outcome of the Stanley Cup finals between the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks.
Democrat David Cicilline and Republican Adam Kinzinger announced the wager Tuesday, a day before the two teams begin the series.
If the Blackhawks prevail, Cicilline agrees to serve Kinzinger and his staff several Rhode Island favorites including New England clam chowder, Portuguese chourico sausage and Del's Lemonade.
If the Bruins win, Kinzinger will provide Chicago-style pizza and hotdogs and locally made popcorn.
Cicilline and Kinzinger were both first elected in 2010. They say the bet and the staff luncheon are intended to foster better relationships between Democrats and Republicans.
