MALTA (WIFR) -- The Kishwaukee College Women’s Basketball Program is once again participating in the Kay Yow Cancer Fund nationwide breast cancer awareness and fundraising event, Play4Kay/Hoops for Hope, on February 12 in the College gym. The event will include several activities designed to create awareness, recognize cancer survivors, and raise funds for breast cancer research.
The women’s and men’s basketball teams will each play a scheduled game against Highland Community College that evening. Women’s tip-off time is 5:30 p.m. and men’s tip-off time is approximately 7:30 p.m. During the women’s game, silent auction items will be open for bidding which will continue through half-time of the men’s game. Each breast cancer survivor in attendance will receive a flower during a recognition ceremony at the women’s game and there will be a reception after the game.
Once again this year there is an opportunity to donate online. Donations to the Kishwaukee College Play4Kay/Hoops for Hope fundraising effort may be made by credit card at www.play4kay.org/kish. Online donors are asked to click the “My Team Page” button and then click the donation button. Donations made on the front page of the Play4Kay website will not register to Kishwaukee College.
