HCC Athletic Department Receives Arrowhead Conference All-Sports Award

FREEPORT (WIFR) — The Athletic Department at Highland Community College has been awarded the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Arrowhead Conference All-Sports Award. This award is given annually to the college with the top athletic program based on overall final conference standings in all sports.

Three teams contributed substantially to the conference win by boosting the overall standing. The HCC men’s basketball team and softball team received first place finishes in the Arrowhead Conference this season, while the volleyball team finished in second place.

“Highland last won this award in 2005. The entire Athletic Department is excited to be recognized after a successful season for our athletes,” said HCC Athletic Director Pete Norman. “We are very proud of our student athletes and coaches, and are hoping to repeat next season.”
