Boylan grad and former Illini kicker Derek Dimke was released by the Detroit Lions today. Dimke, who signed a free agent deal back in april, was competing with veteran kicker Jason Hanson for the starting spot. Dimke was perfect this preseason going 2 for 2 on field goals and 3 for 3 on extra point attempts . Also today the Kansas City Chiefs released North Boone grad Zeke Markshausen. The Northwestern alum was on the Chiefs practice squad last year.
