City Hall Calls for More Inspections at Wrigley Field

By: Chicago - AP

Chicago Building Commissioner says he ordered another inspection of Wrigley Field after a reporter mentioned some repairs at Wrigley were shoddy and the cause of the falling concrete.

Kanderbek says the reporter told him the information came from contacts inside the Cubs organization.

Kanderbek says the city has told the Cubs to hire an independent inspection of all repairs completed since 2001. He says the Cubs have until noon Monday to show the ballpark is safe.

Kanderbek made the announcement as it released City Hall maintenance records that were sought by the Chicago Tribune in a controversial Freedom of Information Act request.

The Tribune company owns the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field.
