Pinch-hitter Javier Valentin's two-run double in the eighth inning gave the Cincinnati Reds a 7-6 victory today over the struggling Milwaukee Brewers.
Valentin hit a 3-2 pitch from Scott Linebrink to the left-center field wall, scoring Jeff Conine and Edwin Encarnacion to give the Reds their first lead in the game.
Cincinnati trailed 5-0 after three innings at Milwaukee. Adam Dunn and Brandon Phillips homered as the Reds rallied to tie the score. But they fell behind again on J.J. Hardy's solo home run which led off the seventh.
David Weathers got Prince Fielder to ground out with two on in the ninth for his 25th save in 30 chances.
Fielder, Ryan Braun and Bill Hall also homered for Milwaukee.
